1stserve Testimonials
What other tennis players like you are saying Here

I have played in tennis leagues in Atlanta, GA, Columbus, OH, Pittsburgh, PA and Orlando, FL. This by far is the best one. The concept is easy to understand, the levels are evenly matched and it is inexpensive. I have been in Jacksonville, FL for nine months now and through 1st Serve I have over 20 people I can call up at any time for a very competitive match. If it were not for 1st Serve I would still be searching for games. I am a former Division 1 tennis player and I am happy to have 1st Serve around. I would encourage people at any level to get involved.

I'd like to take a moment to express my pleasure in how the 1st serve site works.   When I first moved to Jacksonville (April 2001) I immediately began a search for tennis opportunities.   A local USTA official informed me that Jacksonville was a "club" city when it came to USTA team tennis.  However, I was not interested in joining a country club just to play tennis, since I already have access to a golfing facility where I live.  He went on to suggest I checkout 1st serve.com and so I did.  The rest is history.    My search for competitive tennis has started and ended with your site providing all that I need:  competitive and friendly opponents, and a cool and easy way to manage match scoring and standings.

I would highly recommend this 'package' to others that are interested in organized tennis.   Most tennis people are motivated individuals and that's just the kind of people that would enjoy a web based tennis organization.

Sincerely,

Greg Bailey

The first serve concept works because people today are busier than ever.  1st serve allows you to play the game when and where it is convenient to you.  The league rules are fair and there is good parity within each division.

I am here to tell all the new cities that are skeptical and don't think that the 1stserve concept works that they are wrong, wrong wrong and that they are missing out on a great tennis-playing opportunity. I have been in the league for 6 seasons now (since Jan. 2000) and really enjoy it. I have only been playing tennis for about 3 years and it wasn't real easy finding competitive opponents to play against. With the 1stserve league that has all changed. I now have more than enough opponents to play and I could probably play 5 or 6 nights a week if I wanted to. Each season you get 7 or 8 new opponents names and you play them for a chance to get to the playoffs and try to advance to the finals for your division. Win or lose it's a blast. If you don't win your division in the current season you just try again the next season. During the course of the season you should have several good close competitive matches that could've gone either way and whether you win or lose the match just make sure you let you opponent know that you want to play again soon. You already have his or her name, phone number and e-mail address and just maybe you might also have a  competitive tennis partner for a long time to come. All this just for joining the 1stserve tennis league. Don't delay. Join today.

When I moved to Jacksonville in the Winter of 2000; I was very eager to find an outlet for my love of tennis. I found everything I was looking for in short order within the 1rstServe League format. I find the league to be extremely well run and organized (especially with the introduction of the new website), as well as a great way to meet friendly like minded individuals in a casual, competative, yet friendly atmosphere. Tennis is such a great sport and 1rstServe is a very viable way to introduce it to the masses as well as bring the joy of the sport to all who love to play the game, both young and old. It has certainly helped my game as well as my spirits! Keep up the good work John and Jackie and the rest of the 1rstServe staff. Kudos for a job well done and best wishes for the continued "work in progress"!

1stserve provides the opportunity to play individuals of your talent level
and age group that you would not ordinarily play in a friendly, but
competitive, nature.

Though I have been playing tennis for more than thirty years in various
venues around  the country, until now I have not found an organization that
both allows me to find plenty of competitive matches AND to arrange them to
fit my own schedule.  Of course there are compromises to be made with one's
opponent, but this never seems to be an insurmountable obstacle.  And with
all of the various divisions, one can move up--or down--and thus encounter
new challenges so that it never gets boring.  It's like a year-round
tournament, but there's no pressure to compete in every season if you care
to opt out.

I would love to compete with players in other cities in the U.S., and hope
that 1stServe (or whatever the new name may be) will continue to grow and
attract more and more tennis enthusiasts like myself.

1stserve has enabled me to meet players of the same
level quickly. Without its help I would still be looking
for players at my level.

I do not have a 9 to 5 job, so 1stserve has provided
me a way to play fun and competitive matches on my own
schedule, as well as giving me the opportunity to meet
more tennis players in my community.

I love 1st Serve! It is the best way to find other people of your
level around the city who are interested in playing singles. I have
met dozens of nice guys, and now play with several of them for
fun when not playing in the tournament matches. It is also a great
way to get to play at many of the different locations around the
city, places which you normally would not have access to. The system
used for scheduling matches is laid back, and you don't feel the
pressure of having no choice as to date or time like you do in the
city league or USTA.

Keep up the good work!

This league is great. I can schedule my matches without conflicting with my business/family schedule. Unlike other leagues I have belonged to where we played every Thursday night and matches that can not be rescheduled. I find I get to play more tennis without complications. I recommend this league to all my tennis friends.

1stserve is great!  As a new Jacksonvillian 1stserve
has helped me to learn my way around the city and meet
some very nice people.  I really like the fact that
you can schedule matches at your own convenience.  The
website is very cool --- being able to keep track of
matches and standings is awesome.

I really like the way you've organized the Web site and the periodic messages you send! You've come a long way with 1st Serve. Thanks for making it work for all of us.

Thanks,
David Clark
