The criteria for the Dominators
| Over the long history of tennis there have been many
great players, many great champions, but only a handful have truly
dominated the sport.
We've decided to put a list together of the biggest names to have ever played tennis. Some of you will be disappointed to not find your favorite players on the list, if they're not here it is because they did not meet the following criteria Reached the finals of one or more of the grand slams at least five times in a respective calendar decade For example, Bjorn Borg reached the finals of 6 Wimbledon championships, but 4 were in the 70's and 2 in the 80's and therefore does not qualify. Pete Sampras won 6 Wimbledon titles in the 90's and is on the list as a dominator of grass in the 90's. If a particular decade is not listed, it's because no player meant the criteria for that time period. As always, your comments are welcomed, e-mail us and leave your opinion |
